Montana Credit Unions for Community Development (MCUCD) is a nonprofit organization whose mission is to improve the lives and financial independence of all Montanans. We do this by bringing innovative and empowering financial services to the underserved and those of modest means through Montana’s credit unions.
MCUCD has the expertise and resources of its parent organization, the Montana Credit Union Network, who has been serving Montana’s credit unions for over 65 years. We also have the Community Development Financial Institution (CDFI) designation from the U.S. Treasury Department, recognizing our focus to underserved populations.
Financial education is intertwined with all of MCUCD’s efforts. We are dedicated to supporting Montana’s credit unions efforts to provide financial education in their communities, whether it’s outreach in the community or efforts to volunteer in the local schools as presenters. MCUCD advocates financial education across Montana by providing credit unions with the appropriate tools, resources, and training opportunities to enable them to initiate and/or be involved with education efforts in their communities.
Montana’s credit unions have long been committed to financial education â€" it is part of the basic philosophy of people helping people â€" and we continue that commitment to educating members and consumers. To locate a credit union in your area, go to http://www.montanacreditunions.coop/.
