Announcing the NCAI WEBINAR:

“Just Don’t Blow It”: Cobell Land Buy Back & Blackfeet’s Piikani Money Campaign – A Financial Education Model

On Wednesday, November 30th from 2:00 to 3:30 p.m. EST, NCAI’s Partnership for Tribal Governance will host this informative webinar, which will be presented by the Blackfeet Nation and the Center for Indian Country Development (Federal Reserve Bank of Minneapolis). The webinar will share a detailed overview of Blackfeet’s groundbreaking Piikani Money Campaign, which the Native American Community Development Corporation (a corporation founded by Elouise Cobell) recently developed in partnership with the Nation in anticipation of its rollout of the Cobell Land Buy Back (LBB) Program.

Using the slogan “Just Don’t Blow It,” the campaign provides a multi-faceted template for comprehensive financial education that other tribes can customize for their own use as they prepare for LBB, the Keepseagle settlement, and other financial settlements featuring direct payments to individual tribal citizens.
